When is the Fabric Reinforcement recommended?
The Fabric Reinforcement is recommended on any substrate that has seams or joints. On substrates that consist of different elements/boards, the weak point are the seams where most of the movement can occur.
Is the Fabric Reinforcement visible?
Yes, the Fabric Reinforcement fabric will be visible if you intent to use the SEMCO Liquid Membrane as a finish coat.
Bridging cracks with the Fabric Reinforcement
Any cracks larger than 1/4" we recommend to use the Fabric Reinforcement. The Fabric Reinforcement will bridge the existing cracks and prevents them to transfer into your surface.
How to apply Fabric Reinforcement
Apply a coat of SEMCO Liquid Membrane over the area where you would to apply the Reinforcement Fabric. While the SEMCO Liquid Membrane is still wet, apply the Fabric Reinforcement over the area and press it flat. After 5 - 10 minutes roll another coat of the SEMCO Liquid Membrane over the Fabric Reinforcement and let it dry for 45 minutes to an hour before applying the SEMCO Liquid Membrane over the entire surface.
