Choose between gloss or matte sealer.
Garage floor project
Start by selecting the setup that fits your garage floors surface and waterproofing needs. Then use the prep and application steps below to complete the job with confidence.
Follow these steps for prep, application and cure timing based on the pool surface you are coating. The goal is a clean substrate, even coverage and enough cure time before water exposure.
• Use SEMCO Power Cleaner and SEMCO Nu-Lift Cleaner if there is any oil or grease
Ensure your surfaces are fully cleaned and dried. Gather all the products and tools needed for your project.

Mask off areas that are not receiving any coating. Remove masking tape before material has fully cured.
Use a 1/2" woven nap roller to apply Titan Shield Gloss. Apply the first coat and allow the sealer to dry for at least 30 - 45 minutes, up to 2 hrs in high humidity conditions, or until surface is completely dry. Repeat the application to a minimum of 3 coats or a total thickness of 15-20 mil. Additional coats may be required depending on the porosity of your substrate. For larger areas Titan Shield Gloss can be applied with an airless sprayer with tip size 17. Adjust the sprayer to the lowest possible air setting and try out on a test area first.
Helpful Tip
Apply each coat in alternate directions to the last coat to ensure even coverage.
Use magic trowel or 1/4” woven short nap roller to apply the product. Do not go back and forth. OPTIONAL: Use airless sprayer with tip size 17 at 850-1,000 PSI. Position the airless sprayer gun at 18” away from the floor Minimum of 2 coats is required to ensure 6 - 8 mils total film thickness
Helpful Tip
Apply each coat in alternate directions to the last coat to ensure even coverage.
• For clean up use warm water to clean brush or roller right after use.
• For optimal bonding we highly recommend preparing the surface as mentioned above for best results.
• Stir up the product well before use in order to mix up the color pigments.
• Avoid application in direct sun light in the afternoon or temperatures of over 85F as it might cause the product to dry too fast before it can adhere to the substrate
• It can not be applied to wet substrates or substrates still containing moisture, else it will not cure correctly and stay tacky. Max. rest moisture in substrate can be up to 3%. If you are unsure about the moisture content, have it measured prior to application.
• It is always advisable to apply a small test patch in an inconspicuous are to ensure adequate adhesion prior to full application.
The coverage of Titan Shield Gloss is up to 200 sq ft @3 coats per 1 gallon and SEMCO Sealer Matte is up to 160 sq ft @2 coats per 1 gallon.
For a garage floor, use Titan Shield Gloss or SEMCO Sealer Matte — a single-component, water-based polyurethane-hybrid sealer that gives concrete a tough, high-gloss or matte, easy-to-clean finish built for garages, shops, and driveways. If your slab also has a moisture or water-intrusion problem, waterproof first with SEMCO Liquid Membrane and then topcoat with Titan Shield Gloss or SEMCO Sealer Matte.
You can make it slip-resistant easily. Mix in the Titan Shield Non-Skid Additive, which achieves a DCOF slip-resistance rating of 0.86 — well into the high-traction range — so the floor stays safe underfoot even when wet or dusty. Just shake the additive, empty it into the sealer, and mix thoroughly before applying. It's a smart addition for garage entries, ramps, and any spot that gets wet.
The slab must be clean, dry, and free of any unknown or solvent-based coatings. Remove efflorescence and mineral deposits with Nu-Lift Cleaner and Stone Soap, and cut oil and grease stains with Power Cleaner — garage floors are notorious for oil, so degrease thoroughly. Make sure moisture content is in the 3.5–4.5% range (no wet surfaces) before you start; coating a damp or oily slab is the top cause of adhesion failure.
No —Titan Shield Gloss and SEMCO Sealer Matte has a UV-stable formula that won't yellow or break down in direct sunlight, so it suits garages with open doors, carports, and exterior slabs alike. That UV stability is a key advantage over many solvent-based floor finishes that amber over time. It keeps its clear, glossy look for the life of the coating.
Unlike two-part epoxies that need careful mixing, have a short pot life, and can amber and peel under UV and hot tires, Titan Shield Gloss and SEMCO Sealer Matte is a ready-to-use single-component water-based sealer that's UV-stable, low-odor, quick-drying (multiple coats per day), and rated for vehicle traffic. It bonds to concrete, pavers, and stamped and polished finishes, and cleans up with water. For a durable, non-yellowing gloss without epoxy's hassle, it's an easier DIY path.
